Fours championship bowls final played at Umina

A side of Darrin Fleming, Allan Rhodes, Paul Watson and Mark Hogden has taken out the Umina Beach Men's Bowling Club 2024 Fours Championship Final.

A big crowd watched the final played on Saturday, January 27.

They were playing Ian Mutton, Ian Jarratt, Vic Gauci and Steve "Lazarus" Stead.

"Steve's side had come back from the dead in their previous two games and were looking for a repeat against the Hoggo 'dream team'," said club secretary Mr Peter Springett.

"Steve's game plan got off to the planned start, with 10 shots behind after three ends.

"Unfortunately, they weren't able to produce the come back of the previous two weeks.

"Steve's side steadied the ship and almost held Hoggo's side for the second half of the game, but they weren't able to claw back the early deficit.
