Jackie Pearson moves on
The secretary of the association which owns Peninsula News has resigned for personal reasons.
Ms Jackie Pearson said she had not found the time she felt was needed for the role.
She also said she wanted to increase her work as a freelance journalist, without that conflicting with her role at Peninsula News.
Peninsula News editor Mr Mark Snell said the committee was appreciative of Ms Pearson's significant contributions to the newspaper both as a journalist and as a member of the committee of The Peninsula's Own News Service Inc association.
"We are sad to see her go, and wish her well with her future endeavours."
Ms Pearson said: "Peninsula News was the first local paper I read when I moved to the Coast in 2001.
"I have such respect for Mark Snell who founded the paper and has been its editor ever since," she said.
"Mark made the difficult decision last year to break away from Central Coast Newspapers and continue to publish Peninsula News on behalf of The Peninsula's Own News Service Inc.
"It was a privilege to help with that process and I am sure Mark and the association will continue to provide a strong news service for the Peninsula.
"I am returning to contribute to Central Coast Newspapers which no longer has a connection to Peninsula News.
"I wish Mark and The Peninsula's Own News Serve every success for the future.
"Many local newspapers are closing down and leaving a void of local news for their communities, so it is reassuring to see that the Peninsula's community-owned local news source is continuing to provide local news during times when it is most needed."
