Outgoing club president gives final report
Woy Woy Rotary club's president for the past year, Ms Joan Redmond, has given her final report as president to the club on handing-over to incoming president Ms Julie Jones.
"We were fortunate to have an in-person Changeover event," said Ms Redmond.
"The last Rotary year began with a Zoom Changeover followed by the lockdown being lifted, but has sadly ended with us having to mask-up again.
"There's no disputing it was a challenging year, but our club continued to do the best we could to serve the community and help to advance the lives of others, near and far.
"By year's end, we had achieved more than I thought possible, and I thank those who supported me in my efforts to take a fresh look at who we are and what we do.
"Full details of the year's achievements will appear in the annual report available in the next few weeks."
Club treasurer Mr Wayne Jennings and Ms Debra Reynolds from Mary Macs were awarded Paul Harris Fellowships.
Honorary memberships were bestowed on Mr Barry Freeman and Mr Vic Brown.
Ms Redmond said the induction of the new president was an all-female event with club member Marie Armstrong acting as MC, and district assistant governor Ms Christine Owen joining them at the "top table".
The club appointed its board for the coming year.

"With another lockdown looming, I am so thankful we could have an in-person event when larger events such as district changeover have been cancelled.
"It has been an honour to lead the Rotary Club of Woy Woy this past year."
