Five trials for junior Roosters

Woy Woy Roosters Junior Rugby League Football Club will begin the 2012 season with five trials which will start on Sunday, March 4.

The first trial will be against Cessnock at Woy Woy secondary college campus followed by Toronto at Toronto on Sunday, March 11, Berkeley Vale at Berkeley Vale on Sunday, March 18, North Lakes at North Lakes on Sunday, March 25 and Terrigal at Terrigal on Sunday, April 1.

The trials are expected to give all players a good build-up before the season proper and allow coaches to have a good look at all players for grading.

As part of the clubs 50th year celebrations, a Roosters Family Picnic Day has been organised at Patonga for Sunday, April 15, for all players, coaching staff, their families and supporters,.

The first round of the season is Saturday, April 21, which will see the club return to its old home ground, Woy Woy Oval.

The Roosters' major fundraiser will this year be a State of Origin Raffle, with tickets on sale from Friday, January 13, at Woy Woy Leagues Club.

First prize is two tickets to the 2012 State of Origin Game one on Wednesday, May 23, at Etihad Stadium, Melbourne, with return air fares and accommodation.

Second prize is a 127cm LG Plasma Razor Frame TV and third prize is a State of Origin Football signed by NSW's Kurt Gidley.
