Nippers represent Central Coast

Umina Surf Life Saving Club sent four of its young nippers to represent the Central Coast at the NSW Inter branch Titles held at Redhead Beach on the weekend of December 10 and 11.

Those who attended were Claire Gaffney who competed in the Under-14s, Kiesha Bovill and Rachel Wood in the Under-13s and Harry Braddish in the Under-12s.

The Central Coast Branch Team came third overall in the final placing and the young nippers helped the team for the final points tally.

"Kiesha and Rachel won the Board Rescue against the best in the State so hopefully this gives them the confidence again for Kingscliff State Titles in March," said Umina club secretary Ms Christine Lavers.

"Harry performed well on the beach and was a great asset for the relay teams.

"This was Claire's second time in the team and if her recent results are an indication of her performance she will surely have a chance again next year for selection," said Ms Lavers.
