Death of brigade member

The Hardys Bay Residents Group newsletter has reported the death of Killcare-Wagstaffe Fire Brigade member Mr Steve Dunlop.

He died from a heart attack while holidaying in Bali in September.

Mr Dunlop joined the brigade in 2004 and, during his time as a member, he attended 132 fire calls, five campaign fires and went away on one extended deployment to Bathurst.

He was elected to the position of brigade secretary in 2007.

It was recorded at the Killcare-Wagstaffe Brigade general meeting in October that: "Steve would be greatly missed, both as a friend and for the contribution he made to the local Brigade and the local community."

Steve's mother, Ms Ruth Dunlop, said she wished to extend her sincere thanks to the many people in the community who had passed on their kind condolences over his sad passing.
