Peter Springett named runner-up in seniors awards
Umina Beach Men's Bowling Club secretary Mr Peter Springett has been named a runner-up in the Gosford electorate's 2025 Seniors Local Achievement Awards.
Announcing the award, Member for Gosford Ms Liesl Tesch said that earlier this year she had called for nominations of people who made a positive contribution through their work, volunteering efforts, involvement in sports or community activities.
"I am delighted to have the opportunity to recognise your work as club secretary for the Umina Beach Mens Bowling Club, and for helping organise the yearly cancer charity events.
"I have seen firsthand the impact of your tireless work across the community.
"I send my deepest congratulations and thanks for all that you do for community members across the Gosford electorate and Central Coast."
Ms Tesch also sent her thanks to club president Mr Lee Cribbs for nominating Mr Springett.
Mr Springett said: "I was both surprised and humbled to receive this nomination and award, especially as I won the award two years ago, for my other voluntary passion, the Umina Community Group."
Mr Springett thanked Mr Cribbs for nominating him.
"The nomination was for my nine-year role as secretary of the Umina Beach Men's Bowling Club and my six years on the Zone15/Central Coast Bowls committee.
He also thanked Ms Tesch for her "very kind and much appreciated words".
