Eight bridge teams compete in gold point event
Eight teams competed in the Brisbane Water qualifying round of the Grand National Open Teams gold point competition played on Saturday, May 24.
The event was won by local Team Berzins, which scored six wins out of seven, giving them top spot at the close of play.
Gosford squad Team De Vries had the same number of wins but the VPs were against them relegating the team to second place.
Brisbane Water Bridge Club's Team Foster filled third spot with a 4, 0, 3 result.
Tournament secretary was Peter Hume and director was Gary Barwick.
A qualifying round of this event is still to be played at Gosford, and hopeful teams still have a chance of making the cut.
