Highly Strung Rock Orchestra returns to Troubadour

The Troubadour Folk Club will host the Highly Strung Rock Orchestra at 2pm on Sunday, July 28, at the Everglades Country Club in Dunban Rd, Woy Woy.

"The Highly Strung Rock Orchestra returns to the Troubadour with a fabulous Sunday afternoon concert at Troubadour Folk," said club president Mr Michael Fine.

"Highly Strung play folk and acoustic music beautifully, with moving interpretations of traditional jigs, reels and some of the great folk-rock classics.

"They nail it, too, with rock musical versions of some of the greatest popular songs of the past 60 years or more.

"Nowadays there's more of them as they have quietly added a new generation of family virtuosos to the line-up.

"Mary O'Mahony takes centre stage with her fiddle along with family: Bernadette McCoy on violin-vocals, Stella McCoy as lead vocal-flute-whistle, Justin McCoy as lead vocal-guitar, and guest musicians Molly McCoy on violin-vocals, Joey McCoy on guitar, and Minnie McCoy, vocals.

"Together they present the best and most polished performance you're likely to see.

"On their previous appearances at the Troubadour, Highly Strung proved to have immense audience appeal, filling a large hall to sell out each time.

"This time the large venue is the Everglades auditorium and tickets are selling fast.
