Writers' festival receives $20,000

The Peninsula-based Words on the Waves Festival will receive $20,000 from the Regional Event Fund for next year's event.

Member for Gosford Ms Liesl Tesch said the grant would help organisers continue to enrich the cultural landscape and the local economy.

Events like this make our community such a wonderful place to live, full of joy and rich cultural diversity.

Not only this, but these events attract visitors to fill our hotels, restaurants and visitor attractions, which will play a key role in stimulating the visitor economy," Ms Tesch said.

"Regional events such as these have been faced with significant challenges over recent years, and grants such as these ensure that our locally grown events industry are able to flourish while showcasing the rich diversity of our region."
