Rain falls short

With just three days to go in October, rainfall for the month has finished 10mm below the monthly average.

Figures supplied by Mr Jim Morrison of Woy Woy 65.4mm of rain fell in the month until October 28, 10mm below the average of 75.4mm.

Rainfall for the year to date remains well above average with a total of 1316mm recorded compared to the cumulative average at the end of October of 1053mm.

The year-to-date figure also exceeds the annual average of 1231.1mm.

Temperatures in October ranged between a minimum of 9.7 degrees on October 4 to a maximum of 34.2 on October 24, according to figures from www.peninsulaweather.info.

Highest minimum was 19.3 on October 24 and lowest maximum was 16.1 on October 2.

The average daily maximum for the month was 22.1 and the average overnight minimum was 14.0.

The highest wind gust recorded was 37.4km/h recorded on October 25.
