Ivory curl trees suggested for local planting

The Peninsula's Grow Urban Shade Trees group is suggesting ivory curl trees (Buckinghamia celsissima) as suitable for planting locally.

"A few can be sighted, like this tall one, around our Peninsula," said group member Ms Jen WIlder.

"They start off slowly then flower in January and February with huge nectar-filled perfumed flowers, loved by birds and insects."

Ms Wilder said the trees grew to about six metres high and were "a great tree for attracting nature into your garden".

"Be patient as they are very slow to reach maturity," she said.
