Students kept in 'holding pattern' until today
Woy Woy Public School has kept its Year 1 to Year 6 students in a "holding pattern" until today when they will be placed in their new classes for the year.
This was necessary to "complete the final checks of our rolls and numbers".
School principal Ms Sandy Knowles asked parents to support acceptance of the new arrangement.
"When your child comes home, please encourage a positive attitude towards this change," she said.
"Classes have been thoughtfully formed to meet the needs of all students, and it may take a few weeks for everyone to adjust to new routines, peer groups, and teachers.
"In the coming weeks, there will be opportunities to discuss specific stage information during our parent information sessions.
"This will be a wonderful chance to meet your child's teacher and start building the 2025 teacher-parent partnership.
"The school's staffing structure will be shared in our first Namalata newsletter on Friday, February 14, along with additional important information for 2025."
Ms Knowles said the new Preschoolers and Kindergarten students had settled into their classes "beautifully".
They were "having a great time exploring our school environment, making new friends, and getting to know their teachers".
She said: "We look forward to getting to know our new students and building strong connections with parents and carers to foster a partnership that promotes positivity, safety, engagement, and learning."
