August records 25 per cent more than month's average

August has ended with a total rainfall of 81.6mm on the Peninsula.

The total is more than 25 per cent above the average monthly rainfall of 65mm for August, according to figures supplied by Mr Jim Morrison of Woy Woy.

The total rainfall for the first two-thirds of the year of 545.9mm was 55.3 per cent of the average total at the end of August of 987mm.

The Peninsula's average annual rainfall is 1321mm.

Only 8.8mm of rain fell in the last two weeks of the month, 8.1mm of which was recorded on the morning of Thursday, August 31.
