Registered club joins with others to donate to charity

A local registered club has combined with a total of 25 other Central Coast clubs to donate a total of $475,000 to 32 charities.

The clubs combined under the Clubgrants scheme in the Central Coast's Local Government Area to provide community support through a Local Committee, with the ability to fund projects that make a significant contribution to the Central Coast Community, said Ettalong Diggers community manager Ms Kim Cole.

She presented three cheques of $10,000 each on behalf of Ettalong Diggers to three charities as part of the latest round.

The charities were Look Good Feel Better Cancer Patients Foundation, Learning Links Reading for Life - Supporting Disadvantaged Children with their Literacy, Save Our Kids from Suicide.

"The amazing work the volunteers do within these organisations is to be truly commended," said Ms Cole.

"The much-needed funds from clubs all around the Central Coast will certainly benefit many people in our local community."

The ClubGrants scheme provides a gaming machine tax offset.
