Families may join tours of new aged care section

Families of aged care residents will be able to join them as they look through new sections of their Woy Woy aged care home over coming weeks.

"Any visiting family would be welcome to join their loved ones on one of these tours," said Blue Wave Living chief executive Mr Matt Downie.

"We will look to invite residents through our new sections of the build over the coming weeks.as we continue with final preparation of the newly built section.

"Following on from that we anticipate welcoming some new residents into the first few bedrooms which will be made available in the north-east wing."

Mr Downie said work continued on the western side of the The Shores building, including internal rebuild works.

With the completion of this work expected in September, the home would have its first "household" complete.

"This will be a significant milestone for us: the completion of all stage one works."

Mr Downie said that stage two works were now not expected to start until next year.

"We will need time to operationalise the new spaces from mid-September onwards, and relocate residents out of both southern wings in The Shores building into new rooms," he said.
