Hospital auxiliary re-opens kiosk after 18-month closure
The Woy Woy Hospital Auxiliary has re-opened the hospital kiosk after it being closed for 18 months following the pandemic and recent renovations to the building.
It is now open from 10am until 2pm Tuesdays to Fridays.
The kiosk serves drinks and meals, including coffee, tea, sandwiches, and hamburgers, to hospital staff and health professionals.
The auxiliary is now asking the wider community to visit and support the kiosk.
All funds raised goes back into supporting patient care and to purchase medical equipment for Woy Woy Hospital, said Member for Robertson Dr Gordon Reid.
"The Woy Woy Hospital Auxiliary kiosk is an outstanding cafe on the Peninsula", he said.
"You can taste the extra care that goes into each drink or meal prepared.
"I would encourage the community on the Peninsula to visit and have your next drink or meal there and support a worthy cause".
Woy Woy Hospital Auxiliary president Ms Phyllis Thomas said the kiosk was looking for volunteers.
"For 20 years the kiosk has operated out of Woy Woy Hospital and supported patient care", Ms Thomas said.
"The kiosk has a brilliant new outdoor dining area for customers to enjoy and there is knitted gifts available to purchase as well", Ms Thomas said.
"We have about eight volunteers in the kiosk but need more to keep up with demand.
"No prior experience or training is necessary, just the ability to make drinks and prepare meals.
The kiosk is at Woy Woy Hospital on Ocean Beach Rd, and everybody in the community is welcome.
For further information, phone the kiosk on 4344 8435 or Ms Thomas on 0409 425 811.
