Free book launch and family day at writers' festival
Six free book launches involving 10 Central Coast authors will be held on the Peninsula as part of the Words on the Waves Writers Festival in June.
The book launches will be held from June 3 to June 10, while the main paid sessions of the festival will be on the weekend of June 3 and 4.
A free Family Fun Day will also be held at the Everglades Country Club on Sunday, June 4, "geared at younger readers (zero and up)".
It will include author talks, illustration demonstrations, face-painting, book launches and signings, and creative craft activities.
The book launches include the Faber Anthology, presented by Gretchen Shirm, from 5pm to 6:30pm on Saturday June 3, at the Ocean Beach Surf Club.
Peter Comerford will launch The Maliau Caves Adventure from 9:45am to 10:15am on Sunday, June 4, at the Everglades Country Club.
At the same venue on the same day, between 12:30pm and 1:30pm, Bridget Acreman and Patricia Flannery will launch The Wizard Shark and Adventures of the She-Oak Critters.
Robyn Collins and Renee Simpson will launch Return to Soul and I Want To Go Home on Monday June 5, starting at 5pm at Centered Ceramics in Umina.
Zoe Farrell and Sally Jane Smith will launch Daph and Ern's Adventures and Unpacking for Greece at 6pm on Thursday, June 8, at Woy Woy Library.
Judith Krieger and Anne Perrottet will launch Your Native Language is Your Superpower and Thriving and Surviving Raising Thirteen between 10:30am and 11:30am on Saturday, June 10, at Jasmine Greens Park Kiosk in Umina.
