Annual music concerts to be held on Saturday
Pearl Beach Progress Association will hold its annual music scholarship concerts on Saturday, May 20, from 11am at the Pearl Beach Memorial Hall.
The junior showcase and scholarship concerts are performed by students from the Central Coast Conservatorium.
This year the junior showcase and senior scholarship concerts will be held on one day at the Pearl Beach Memorial Hall.
The senior students will compete for the Irvine Family Piano and Pearl Beach Senior Music Scholarships.
The Pearl Beach Junior Showcase concert will be held at 11am demonstrating solo instrument and vocal skills and is not competitive.
Last year's Irvine Piano Scholarship recipient, Chris Chen, will give a guest performance.
Starting at 2.30pm the Irvine Family Piano Scholarship and the Pearl Beach Music Scholarship concerts will be held, each with prizes valued at $1000.
A guest performance will be given by Mia Cross, last year's music scholarship winner.
The audience is invited to vote for a Peoples Choice award of $500 and a $250 runner-up award.
During adjudication and voting at end of the day, there will be a special performance by past scholarship winner Aaron Carey.
"The concerts are an excellent opportunity for Conservatorium students to perform for the community, and deliver breath-taking performances," said association publicity officer Ms Lynne Lillico.
Tickets cost $10 for each concert or $15 for both.
