April has highest 14-day rainfall this year

April rainfall on the Peninsula totalled 115.8mm by 9am on Friday, April 14, according to figures supplied by Mr Jim Morrison of Umina.

This is more than three-quarters of the average April rainfall of 149mm and the highest 14-day rainfall total this year.

Most of the rain came on just three days which each had more than 30mm.

A total of 38.5mm fell on Sunday, April 2, and 37.6mm on Monday, April 3.

On Friday, April 14, 33.3mm was recorded.

Year-to-date rainfall remains almost 40 per cent below average.

The current total of 374.7mm is 39.2 per cent less than the end-of-April average of 616mm.
