Cycle group to go on nature walk

Central Coast Bicycle User Group will hold a Nature Walk from Umina Beach into the Brisbane Water National Park to the Hawkesbury River lookout.

The walk will be held from 9am to 12pm next Saturday, April 22, starting at Berrima Cr carpark, Umina Beach.

"It will be a nice little walk around through the bush, pointing out some of the interesting wildlife and native species," said group president Mr Alan Corven.

"It will be a leisurely 2.5 to 3.5 hour walk around the headland of Mt Ettalong through sleepy Pearl Beach into Brisbane Water National Park to a lookout with stunning views across the Hawkesbury River.

"The walk in the park follows a well-graded fire trail, steadily climbing to the lookout.

"This should take no more than 40 minutes including stopping for photos, sniffing the wattles and listening to the birds and possibly frogs.

"We'll return the same way to Pearl Beach where coffee or lunch can be had.'

From there, the leader will return to the starting point with those of the group who wish to join him.

Children are welcome, but dogs are not allowed in the National Park.

The walk may be postponed due to bad weather.

For further information, phone Alan on 0414 538 977.
