Three schools adopt parent portal for term two
Three Peninsula primary schools will adopt the Sentral Parent Portal app to communicate with parents in Term 2.
Woy Woy, Umina Beach and Ettalong Public Schools have all asked parents to download the app and register for a login.
Woy Woy Public School principal Ms Ona Buckley said: "Dojo will be replaced by the Parent Portal next term, and this will become the instant form of parent carer communication from there on.
"Our school posts constantly about what is happening in classrooms and the school activities that are taking place.
"Our school has many communication platforms where parent and carers can access information about our school and what is happening in your child's school world.
"Feedback data suggests that our newsletter is the least visited information source and that people much prefer Dojo, Facebook and sometimes Skoolbag communications.
"Given that, we have decided to take the newsletter back to monthly issues and cover a smaller amount of information that may not have already been sent out to parents and carers.
"A message from the principals, school plan updates, well-being updates, Guliyali Preschool, assembly awards, attendance awards and information, canteen news, P/C news, Stephanie Alexander kitchen garden news and students voice will be standard in the monthly newsletters.
"There are some great things happening at our school so make sure you are on all our platforms, so you see and read what a wonderful school Woy Woy Public is and be a part of our proactive school community."
Umina Beach Public School principal Ms Karen Wardlaw said: "We're saying farewell to Skoolbag.
"As of Term 2, all our school notifications and alerts will sent via our parent portal app.
"We're excited to be able to announce that you can now use the Links icon on the parent portal to visit our online canteen ordering platform or place orders through the uniform shop.
"If you need assistance connecting to or setting up your parent portal app, please let our friendly school team know.
"We'll be happy to assist."
Ettalong Public School included an instructional graphic about the new parent portal in its newsletter.
