Rotary club represented at plaque unveiling
Rotary Club of Woy Woy has been represented at the unveiling of plaque at Mt Penang Parklands, Kariong, to mark 100 Years of Rotary in Australia.
"The plaque sits alongside one erected to mark the Centenary of Rotary International (1905-2005) when clubs on the Central Coast contributed $70,000 to the construction of the Puddle Garden and an adjoining Garden Room," said Woy Woy club president Ms Joan Redmond.
Pictured are Rotary district governor Mr David Clark, Woy Woy club president Ms Redmond (centre) and assistant governor Ms Christine Owen.
"Over the century, Rotary's footprint in Australia has expanded to over 1100 clubs nationally with more than 25,000 members," Ms Redmond said.
"The 15 clubs on the Central Coast have been active locally and internationally, raising millions of dollars in support of projects in the best Rotary tradition of service above self."
