Attempt to reduce need for casual teachers

Woy Woy South Public School is attempting to reduce its need for casual teachers to cover staff absences.

"Traditionally, the end of Term 2 is a busy time for our staff as they spend countless hours completing student reports and attend relevant professional learning," said principal Mr Matt Barr.

He said teachers had to "ensure that they are maintaining their mandatory teacher accreditation and delivering the best quality programs to our children".

"At times, this will involve the staff being absent from the school site and may involve the need for casual teachers.

"We attempt to avoid teacher absences where possible, and make every attempt to provide the children with consistency and familiar faces in their classrooms."
