Emergency planning workshop for seniors
A workshop on the topic of emergency planning for seniors will be held from 9:30am to 12pm on Tuesday, April 20, at the Ettalong senior citizens centre.
Run by Central Coast Council's environmental education team, topics will include having an emergency plan, emergency evacuation kit and where to find help and information in an emergency.
"Emergency situations can arise rapidly and quickly develop into life threatening situations," said environmental education officer Ms Anni Griffiths.
"The single most important factor to your survival is planning and preparation.
"These workshops have been developed for seniors over the age of 55 and are designed to help you build strategies to stay safe in extreme weather events like fire, flood, storm or heatwave.
"Attending households will receive the emergency evacuation kit components."
Light refreshments will be served.
Places are limited, bookings essential, and the workshop will comply strictly to Covid Safe requirements.
