Headsets provided for music therapy

A Woy Woy aged care provider has received 50 headphones as part of Music as Medicine for Dementia program.

Woy Woy Rotary Club president Ms Joan Redmond said the handover of headsets to Blue Wave Living, Woy Woy, completed phase two of the club's Music Therapy for Dementia project.

"Blue Wave Living was grateful to receive 50 sets of headphones for our residents," said chief executive Mr Matt Downie.

The project was jointly funded with the Everglades Country Club, Deepwater Older Women's Network and Charles Brock.

Ms Redmond said the headsets would "help enrich the lives of their residents living with dementia by reviving fond memories of times past".

"Each bluetooth headset allows a patient to have a personal playlist of favourite music and melodies," she said.
