Surf club attends two Anzac ceremonies

The Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving Club was involved with both the Woy Woy dawn service and its own memorial service at 11am on Anzac Day.

The day commenced with members of the club's under-19 and under-23 boat crews rowing to Woy Woy Memorial Park to pay their respects.

This tradition has now been performed by the surf club for more than a decade.

The club held its own memorial service at 11am with 300 people attending.

A catafalque party was provided by the Central Coast Commemoration Guard.

It marched in and stood guard with heads bowed during the service as a sign of respect for the fallen.

Several wreaths were laid on behalf of Federal Member for Robertson Dr Gordon Reid and State Member for Gosford Liesl Tesch as well as the Ettalong RSL sub-branch.

Young club members Aimee Smith and Maison Whitehead laid wreaths on behalf of the surf club while other community members also paid their respects by laying wreaths.
