Peninsula Loop bike ride starts at Ettalong
A "Peninsula loop" ride, starting from the Ettalong shops, will be held from 8am on Saturday, April 19, by the Central Coast Bicycle Users Group.
The ride is described as a relaxed paced ride around the Peninsula of about 25kms, using some shared paths and some quiet roads.
A few detours will available to avoid the short hills, if necessary.
It is expected to take up to 2.5 hours, with a coffee stop at Ettalong after the ride.
It will start from the carpark behind the Ride Ettalong bike shop at 285 Ocean View Rd, Ettalong.
Riders are asked to arrive at least five mins before start time to say hello and to sign on.
Ride organiser Mr Alan Corven said the ride was open only to legal and roadworthy bicycles and e-bikes.
He said: "Before the ride day check that your bike brakes and gears work, tyres are pumped up and holding the recommended pressure.
"With any problems, ask your friendly bike shop to help the week before the ride.
"Wear an Australian approved bicycle helmet - on your head with adjusted straps
"Bring a spare bike tube to suite your tyres, tyre levers and pump or CO2, and some water and some money for coffee or tea after the ride.
"If under 18, you must be accompanied on the ride by a responsible adult.
"We also recommend that you have insurance, such as that provided through membership of Bicycle NSW."
