Hazard reduction burns
Three hazard reduction burns were conducted over the last two weeks in the Peninsula area.
NSW Rural Fire Service commissioner Mr Shane Fitzsimmons said the favorable weather enabled more than 70 hazard reductions burns in NSW including along Hawkesbury River St in Patonga, Bouddi National Park in Killcare and Pomona Rd in the Bouddi National Park.
"For this important work to be effective the conditions need to be ideal, and now that the recent wet weather has cleared, agencies are taking full advantage of the situation," said Mr Fitzsimmons.
"This ongoing work is an important part of preparing for the bush fire season and agencies will continue to schedule these activities while conditions allow," he said.
