Two locations for Oyster Festival
The 11th Brisbane Water Oyster Festival will be held this year over two days in two different locations.
Festivities will begin on Saturday, November 12, at the Mediterranean-inspired Ettalong Market and Cinema complex with the main event continuing on Sunday, November 13, at the waterfront.
Each day from 9am to 4pm a plethora of musicians, amusements, competitions and animal rides will entertain locals and visitors at both venues.
Captain Long Joe, assisted by a shimmering mermaid, will raise funds for Gosford Hospital with the chance to win a family kayak.
There will also be a treasure hunt and a tug-o-war between the Woy Woy Roosters and Umina Bunnies as well as the Woy Woy Woodchop Spectacular.
Entertainment on Sunday will be led by Wayne Cornell and the All Star Big Band followed by Kamis, an act made up of six family members with big voices and bigger dance moves.
The theme of All Things Marine will echo throughout the mix of art, craft, retail, and corporate stalls.
The "How many oysters can you eat" competition will be on again, joined by a new competition "How many prawns can you eat".
