Locals compete in surf championships

Three members from Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving Club competed in the NSW Interbranch Championships at Catherine Hill Bay on December 13 and 14.

Locals Amanda White, Tim Schofield and Wade Hannel were chosen for the Central Coast Branch team.

They joined members from 10 other branches around the State to compete over the two-day event.

Amanda White and her teammate Stephanie Carey finished third place in the Open Female Board Rescue race as well as the Open Female Surf Team race.

The duo also finished second place in the Open Iron Woman Teams race.

Amanda was also a part of the Central Coast team which came second in the Open Female Lifesaver Relay and in the Open Female Rescue Tube Rescue race.

She also managed third place in the Open Female Taplin Relay team race and fifth place in the Open Female Single Ski race.

Wade Hannel finished in first place in the Under-13 Male Beach Sprint race and third place for the individual Under-13 Male Beach Flags race.

Tim Schofield came out with a second place in the Under-19 Male Board Rescue alongside teammate Adam House and fifth place in the Under-19 Iron Man Teams race.

He also managed second place in the Open Male Rescue Tube Rescue race with teammates Scott Higgins, Trent Martin and Rob McIntyre.

Tim took out fifth place in the Open Male Lifesaver Relay race with other Central Coast club members.
