High HSC scores for many students

A large number of HSC students at Brisbane Water Secondary College will receive a University Admission Index in the mid-to-high 80s or above, according to senior campus principal Ms Pam McAlister.

"The college was awarded 146 Band 5 results and 22 Band 6 achievements."

Band 5 results require a mark of 80 per cent or greater, while Band 6 requires a mark of 90 or more.

"The students have again produced some outstanding results, with many subjects above the State average.

"The results were very pleasing and indicated significant incremental improvement."

Students achieving Band 6 results were:

Biology - Timothy Maher 93, Emily O'Nions 93, Georgia Ryan 91.

Business Studies - Nicole Dodds 91.

Economics - Brett Chalder 93, Georgia Ryan 91.

English Extension 2 - Jenna Picken 45/50.

Industrial Technology, Timber and Furniture Products - James Read 90.

General Maths - Kimberley McKinnon 93, Regan Mitchell 93, Skye Rehbach 90, Elky Roberts 92, David Manwaring 93.

Greek Extension - Jason Raychanovsky 49/50.

Hospitality - Kimberley McKinnon 93.

Maths 2 Unit - Grant Cheetham 90.

Maths Extension 2 - David Provest 76, Alan Cameron 74 (both notional Band 6).

PDHPE - Sally Oman 95, Nicole Dodds 93.

Entertainment VET - Jake Horne 90.

Information Technology - James Read 93.
