Profiles of men are wanted
The Multi Arts Confederation is seeking the profiles of Peninsula men who have contributed to the community for a new book Significant Men of the Central Coast.
Editor Ms Margaret Hardy said she had received more than 80 profiles so far including Kevin Duncan, Don Leggett, Earl Merchant, Stephen Clarke, Dr John Irvine and Cec Bucello.
"Some wonderful stories are arriving for this book which will hopefully be printed some time in 2009, on a suitable date dedicated to men," Ms Hardy said.
"Significant men of the Central Coast are many, but they also go without recognition.
"The Multi Arts Confederation is inviting members of the community to nominate men they admire for their contribution to society and the Central Coast for inclusion in the book.
"We are also seeking men who have grown up on the Central Coast and have made their name known internationally, like Simon Tedeschi."
The new book follows on from the success of Significant Women of the Central Coast editions one and two which featured the profiles of more than 200 women involved in the arts, business, education, environment, government, health, history, media, medicine and sport.
Nomination forms are available by phoning Margaret Hardy on 4369 4534 or via email at margarethardy1@bigpond.com
