Christmas card competition won

Students from Umina Public School and St John the Baptist Primary School, Woy Woy, participated in Member for Gosford Ms Marie Andrew's Christmas Card Competition recently.

More than 100 entries were received from Year 3 students at five Central Coast primary schools.

Zali Kassi from Umina Public School and Sarah Loaney from St John the Baptist Primary School, Woy Woy, received highly commended awards and a $10 gift voucher for their entries.

The highly commended awards were given to one student per school as part of the competition prize pool.

All students who entered the competition received a participation certificate from Ms Andrews.

Point Clare Public School student Michaela Conway received first prize in the Christmas Card Competition.

As part of her prize Michaela received $200 worth of Scholastic books for the school and a personal $50 gift voucher for Australian Geographic.

"Michaela's artwork will now be proudly printed on the front of my Christmas cards for this year," Ms Andrews said.

"There were so many great entries this year that it was hard to choose a winner."
