New activities start at PCYC
Archery, creative arts and crafts, singing and music will be introduced at Umina PCYC during school term and school holidays in 2009.
The new activity program coincides with the arrival of new club manager Ms Allison Carpenter, who took over from Mr Tim Keogh in November.
Recently the club obtained video games including Sing Star, Guitar Hero and Dance Factory for its drop-in centre.
"Friday night activities have recently started again and are now in two separate age groups," Ms Carpenter said.
Both would have Sing Star, Guitar Hero, XBox, pool tables, air hockey and music, lights and DJ.
The seven-to-12 year olds would have a range of fun arts and crafts activities, while the 12-to-15 year olds would not.
"Fun Nights and Dance Parties are fully supervised," said Ms Carpenter.
The club's new kiosk has opened and has been named The Snack Shack following a competition won by local resident Luke McShane.
Ms Carpenter said she credits the hard work and dedication of Mr Keogh, police programmer's senior constable Paul Hanna and Renae Jackson, activity officers Ms Jennifer Brooks and Anne Robards and the countless volunteers for making the club an ongoing success.
Ms Carpenter said she was dedicated to delivering and developing fun and safe activities for local children and their families.
Umina Beach PCYC will be closing for the Christmas break from Tuesday, December 23, and reopening on Monday, January 5.
