Traffic safety campaign
Parents at Pretty Beach School will participate in a statewide campaign designed to encourage parents of young children to take on an increased role in traffic safety and supervising young children on the roads
The month long media campaign, entitled "Kids Need a Hand In Traffic", is an initiative launched on the part of Kidsafe NSW and the Motor Accidents Authority
The campaign encourages parents to take a more active role in supervising children, especially five to 10 year olds, in and around traffic.
The initiative stems from research that shows that parent supervision decreases in this age group when children are still too young to safely cope with the road environment.
Pretty Beach Public School will participate in the program by distributing fact sheets to parents and also displaying posters around the school
