Liberals vow to stop coastal high rise

Cr Malcolm Brooks has vowed to preserve the unique quality of our coastal foreshores if the Liberal Party team is elected to Gosford Council.

"There will be no Gold Coast/The Entrance high rise on the Gosford City's coastline," Cr Brooks said.

"Tall buildings are not appropriate within the natural landscape of our coastline.

"Maintaining the identity and visual character of our coastal town and villages is essential to enhance and preserve our quality of life.

"Large scale developments increase the risk of overshadowing of public open spaces, pedestrian plazas and beaches.

"In our coastal towns and villages, overshadowing needs to be avoided prior to 4pm mid-winter and 7pm summertime.

"Views to and from the coast, lakes and the hinterland must be protected if we want to maintain the beauty and allure of our area.

"Otherwise we will end up like the Mosman to Manly strip," he said.
