Association is open to exciting creative ideas
The Peninsula Residents Association is full of surprises.
Just when you think all they are interested in is challenging bad planning decisions (a good thing, but repetitive), all of a sudden they reveal that they are open to exciting creative ideas.
Which is why earlier this month they invited Dr Sasha Kanthan to speak about the Waterbus project.
Starting from the premise that the waterways of the Central Coast are an under-utilised asset, he is proposing a ferry, or waterbus, service to link the Peninsula with Gosford.
The waterbus would operate on several routes across Brisbane Water, with key stops at Woy Woy, Gosford, Ettalong and other strategic locations.
The service is planned to have frequent departures, especially during peak hours, to cater to commuters and tourists alike.
The waterbus fleet would consist of modern, environmentally-friendly vessels, designed for both speed and comfort.
The waterbus is intended to integrate seamlessly with other forms of public transport, including buses and trains, offering a comprehensive transport network for the region.
