Professional and volunteer fire crews have joint exercise
Crews from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 340 Umina and from the Pearl Beach brigade of the NSW Rural Fire Service undertook a combined inter-agency training exercise on Wednesday, March 13.
"The purpose of this training was to complement the already existing professional relationship between the two emergency services," said Fire and Rescue leading station officer Mark Bradford.
"The two agencies frequently respond together to numerous and varied emergency incidents including house fires, wildfires, and rescues.
"The main focus of this particular training exercise was to showcase the capabilities of the FRNSW aerial pumper appliance."
Mr Bradford said that the appliance had an extended ladder reach of 15.4 metres with a 2000 litre water tank, and was a versatile resource asset for the local community and the Central Coast region.
