Bush walks planned

The National Parks Association has two full-day walks planned around the Peninsula within the next month.

The first day walk will take place on Satuday, June 18, and the second day walk will take place on Friday, June 24.

Both walks take place in Brisbane Water National Park.

The first day walk follows the track from Koolewong Station to Parks Bay, Koolewong Ridge, Waterfall Creek, Egyptoid Site, Mt. Lyre, Skeppers Falls, Bulgandry, Cathedral Cave, Woy Woy Bay and back to Koolewong Station.

The walk ascends 250 metres and includes a 19km walk along tracks, fire trails, roads and some climbing.

Guide Mr Bill Macks said participants will experience wonderful views, lovely water cascades, forest, remarkable rock platforms and Aboriginal carvings.

The limit for this walk is 20 people.

The second walk will be from Wondabyne to Woy Woy, ascends 300 metres from and covers a distance of 20km, all on track.

The walk is part of the Great North Walk.
