Refuge sites inspected

Gosford Council's traffic committee is planning to inspect three sites for the placement of pedestrian refuges on the Peninsula.

The refuges are being considered for Broken Bay Rd, Rawson Rd and Sydney Ave.

Council recently engaged consultants ARUP to undertake a Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan for the Woy Woy Peninsula.

The study area included Woy Woy, Umina Beach, Ettalong Beach, Blackwall and Booker Bay.

The recommendations of the plan included the provision of pedestrian refuges in Broken Bay Rd, Rawson Rd and Sydney Ave.

The traffic committee stated that a site inspection was required to assess the appropriateness of the locations chosen for the construction of pedestrian refuges.
