Events planned for Environment Day

Several World Environment Day events have been planned for the Peninsula including kayak trips, open days, tree planting and other activities.

A sea kayak trip up Patonga Creek will be held on Sunday, June 5.

Beginning at 9am, the trip will travel up Patonga Creek to view two sea eagles and their nest.

Along the way, guides will give an environmental history of the creek focusing on the unique flora and fauna of Brisbane Waters National Park.

The trip includes all equipment and a "no-waste eco lunch".

For more information or to book, contact Nicole Bergersen on 4342 2222.

The Woy Woy Environment Centre will hold an Open Day with a Sustainability Focus from 8am until 11am on Saturday, June 11.

Visitors to the Centre will receive a free shrub from Gosford Council and will have the chance to discuss with the volunteers your understanding of sustainability.
