Signs for Lentara Rd

Gosford Council has resolved to place curve warning and advisory speed signs on Lentara Rd, Umina Beach, in a safety review following a severe accident.

A male P-plate driver recently crashed into a tree on Lentara Rd after losing control at high speed, severely injuring himself.

A site inspection by council's traffic committee revealed that Lentara Rd was a typical residential street with a curved alignment and well maintained bitumen seal.

The committee stated that the use of traffic-calming at this location would not be appropriate given the road's undulating and curved alignment.

It further stated that the provision of curve warning and advisory speed signs on the approaches to the bends in Lentara Rd would assist drivers to negotiate the curves at appropriate speeds.
