Police approached

The local police will be asked to keep an eye on speed limits on Helmsman Boulevarde, St Huberts Island, following concerns from local residents.

St Huberts Island residents Alick and Marion Anderson had asked Gosford Council to provide traffic calming devices on the road.

Council's traffic committee did not support the request, instead recommending to council that the matter be referred to the NSW Police Service for enforcement of the 50km/h speed limit.

The decision was accepted by council at its meeting of May 24.
