Umina United defeats The Entrance 4-0
Umina United has defeated The Entrance 4-0 in round 16 of Women's Premier League soccer.
The game started with both teams moving the ball around and plenty of physical challenges.
There wasn't much in it for the opening 30 minutes as both teams looked to find their rhythm.
The first shot came 30 minutes into the game, from Umina's Kate Styles, who took a close-range shot from a tight angle, easily dealt with by the Reddies' keeper.
Five minutes later, Umina opened the scoring with a ball across the face of the goal, tapped in by Tori Sheriff.
They carried the 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
Umina started to really move the ball around in the second half.
A wonderful strike from Hayley Fulwood near the 18-yard box 10 minutes in hit the bottom left corner, and Umina doubled their lead over the Reddies.
The Reddies continued to fight to pull a goal back, now with two strikers rather than one up front.
However, Umina continued to dominate possession, leading to a brilliant solo effort by Kate Styles, who turned a player and then beat another for speed, getting herself 1-on-1 with the keeper.
The first shot was saved, but the second attempt went in, and the home side extended their lead to three goals.
Five minutes later, Umina scored a lovely team goal with clinical passing through the middle to unlock the Reddies' defence, with the ever-present Kate Styles scoring again for the game's fourth and final goal.
Match official was Jeffrey Smith.
