Council announces carpark completion
Central Coast Council has announced it has completed car park upgrade at Rogers Park in Woy Woy.
Mayor Cr Lawrie McKinna said the upgrade supported participation in sport, recreation and community events.
"The upgraded car park, and increased parking capacity, at Rogers Park in Woy Woy provide a much-needed boost for parking."
He said the upgrade enhanced safety and access and was finalised in March, ahead of the winter sports season.
The $750,000 Council-funded upgrade has resulted in more than 210 formal car spaces, including four accessible spaces and eight motorcycle bays.
"The improved infrastructure supports regular users including Woy Woy Roosters Junior Rugby League Club, Woy Woy Peninsula Swans AFL, Peninsula Junior Touch Football, Central Coast Cricket and monthly community markets hosted by the Lions Club."
Member for Robertson Dr Gordon Reid said Rogers Park in Woy Woy was a great local sporting facility that caters to a range of sports.
"The recent upgrades to parking facilities helps to meet the increasing demand by both locals and visitors to the grounds," Dr Reid said.
"I am pleased to be part of a Federal Government which sees the importance of ensuring our community facilities are safe, functional and accessible."
