Jacob Falconer selected for NSW pool rescue team
Ocean Beach surf life saver Jacob Falconer has been selected as one of eight Central Coast members of the NSW pool rescue team.
The team will represent the State in the Australian Pool Rescue Championships to be held in Adelaide from Friday to Sunday, August 8 to 10.
The team also includes five members from Avoca Beach and two from Terrigal.
The eight athletes earned their selection through their performances at the Surf Life Saving NSW Pool Rescue Championships held in June.
At the Queensland State Pool Rescue Championships in July. Jacob came second in the 200m super lifesaver, the 100m carry and 100m tow.
He also placed third in the 100m rescue medley, the 50m carry and 200m obstacles.
"Our pool rescue program has gone from strength to strength, and these results demonstrate that we're leading the way for all NSW branches," said Surf Life Saving Central Coast chief executive Mr Michael Hyslop.
"The dedication of our athletes, coaches, and clubs has created a culture of excellence that produces results like this.
"The Australian Pool Rescue Championships bring together the best pool rescue athletes from across Australia, with competitors showcasing their skills in events that mirror real-life rescue scenarios in aquatic environments."
