Second lowest June rainfall in 19 years

June finished with 22.9mm of rain for the month, the second lowest in 19 years after last June, when only 12.6mm was recorded for the month.

This was 84.4 per cent below the June average of 147mm, according to figures supplied by Mr Jim Morrison of Umina.

The cumulative total for the first six months was 442.8mm, 47.3 per cent below the average of 840mm.

The cumulative total for the first six months last year was 1340.8mm, which was 65 per cent above average and more than three times this year's figure.

In the first week of July, only 5.5mm has been recorded in a month with an average rainfall of 82mm.
