First residents to move into aged care extensions

The first residents will move into new extensions at a Woy Woy aged care home this month.

The new extension at Blue Wave Living, which will be part of the new Beachside House, has taken 15 months to complete.

"We look forward to welcoming the first new residents into one of our newly-completed extensions," said chief executive Mr Matt Downie.

"This is a small but notable step as we begin transitioning towards a true household model of care with the built environment, coupled with our on-going high standards of clinical care and extensive activities we are known for.

"Initially we are just opening up one section in the north east corner of our site, as works continue on the western side to complete a more significant stage.

"Once the current works on the western side is complete, we will then be able to officially open our first true 'household', which will be a fully-completed wing known as Aqua House.

"We anticipate works being completed in September, with an opening following certification in October.

"Following on from this, we will be inviting existing residents within The Shores southern wings, to relocate into one of the new bedrooms."
