Regional plan requires investment in open space
I object to the proposed selling off of 23/23a Memorial Ave, Blakwall.
According to the Central Coast Regional Plan, Council is committed to protect and invest in open space to "enhance the amenity and attractiveness of existing places";
This little block is a migration route for grey-headed flying foxes cited in the Threatened Species Conservation Act as threatened.
The recovery plan is being ignored by Council in proposing the sale of these two lots.
Little blocks like this one preserve biodiversity on our hot coastal sand plain.
This little block provides amenity and shade for residents and habitat for animals and insects and pollinators feeding on the grove of melaleuca.
This little grove of trees hold back and absorb the flooding at the foot of Blackwall Mountain.
